The villagers were tattooed with a number. What does this number replace? What if that part of who you were was replaced for you without your say? How would you feel about it?

I think it replaces name and its ID for the Nazis. So that is another thing that the Nazis in forced.

The numbers were probably to replace the Jew’s identity. So instead of a name you now have a number. Also the Nazis most likely used the number system to classify the groups. Then they might call the whole group to the chamber and kill them.

The numbers are the identity of the jews and will remind them of who they are. But the jews don’t need numbers to remind them of who they are.

These numbers replace the names of the Jewish people in the camps. I think it is sad and mean. It is also bad because I doubt if they changed the needles in between the tattoos from different people. I would be really mad if my ID was no longer my name but something like “J127645″.

The numbers on the Jewish peoples arms replace their names. I would be angry but i would have to get over because if i didn’t i would either be shot or put into the gas chambers.

i think it must have hurt to get a tattoo on your arm and have to remember the random number. I would not want some number imprinted on my arm.

I think that the numbers replace their name and identity. So instead of being called your name, you are called by he number that is engraved on their arm. From then on your name would be and number and your number would be your name.

Some people look down on tattoos. But the Nazis were forcing the Jews to get them. They were trying to make them forget about the world outside the camps. Instead of having names they had numbers. Numbers like J12739. And it’s not like they had a choice. If they fought back they would be killed. Now it’s different. People get them to remember things or people. But the good thing of having this tattoo is that you can say I survived that.

I think the numbers replaced them beacuse they just will forget about how happy they use to be they will just belive I won’t have that life again this is who I am now nothing will change that. I would feel like I don’t know who I am any more this is who I am know.

The numbers were their new names because the Nazis did not want them to any longer exist like they had before…
