The Devil’s Arithmetic

After Chapter 18

Many emotions surface while reading The Devil’s Arithmetic.  Some could use the words

  • amazed
  • disgusted
  • horrified
  • sad
  • puzzled
  • angry
  • uplifted
  • curious

What words would you use to describe how you feel about the events in the book?  What makes you feel that way?

  2. My words that describe the book would be:
    Strange
    Nervous
    Hungry
Because I would feel so strange if I was hannah because she doesn’t really know anyone.Nervous because you don’t know when they would come ask you to follow them to the smoke stack, then you would be killed. Hungry because all they feed you is watery soup. This makes me feel happy for the things that I have like food and a nice warm house, no smoke stack to kill me.
