You are about to read a book about some unusual heroes. What exactly does it mean to be a hero?

The definition of hero on our laptops is”a person, typically a man, who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities : a war hero.” So if you think about it, a hero must show courage or have done something really great.
Heroes in some way, shape or form have fought a battle. Take for instance, Lance Armstrong, he is a hero, a multi-faceted hero. He battled cancer and won. He also battled others in the Tour de France, many times, and won that battle many times as well.
Thinking about the timeframe of this book, what do you think is going to happen to show that the characters in this story are heroes?

A Hero is a person who people can look up to and see as a person that can change the world.

What it means to be a hero. It means to be hope for someone that is in need, being brave in the worst circumstances, bringing justice in an injustice situation. Being a hero is being a like being a light. Its there whenever you need it.

To be a hero you have to do something courageous like helping a person who is in danger, or to stick up for something that you believe in when no one else thinks that whatever you think is right. In order to be a hero you have to do whats right when it really matters.

A hero is a person who does something without care of what happens to themselves like a person that see a baby in the street and runs and takes the baby back to its mother or a fireman people like that they are heroes

To be a hero you have to be strong, you need courage, and you need to want to help people. Hero’s usually save one person or an entire city.

A hero is a person that can help people with different types of things. You have to be strong and brave.

a hero is someone that will be there for you, someone you can look up to. a hero is also someone that helps our world,that doesn’t just believe in them selfs but believes in you. a hero is someone you can look up to for anything.

to be a hero you have to be strong and brave like the people that fight for our contury like people that help other people.

I think its going To be that they survive the war and the holocaust, Maybe even meet Hitler, Any way they can survive they will, Hannah will somehow find a connection to her grampa will and aunt. When she comes back, if she comes back she will be more understanding.

Being a hero means that you are trustworthy, helpful and friendly. If you are a hero, you have helped someone in a big way. You are always up for a challenge and you are ready for anything that comes your way. A hero is selfless and thinks of others when making a decision. An example of a hero is a teacher, always helping when a student needs help, grading endless papers to see what is wrong and gets you back on the right track.

What it means to be a hero is helping others and sticking up for what you believe in and go through with it even if it is a little farther over your ability.

To me a hero is a person who is someone you could look up to. A mentor. A hero is someone who is willing to go out of his/her way to help someone. Step out of the job description.
I believe Hannah might save somebody’s life during the Hollacost

I think that a true hero is someone that knows that they can be and do anything…. keeping their head up and being strong… knowing that they are a hero….
